Quality assurance at the IfB
Are your studies in Educational Sciences or Special Needs Education not going according to plan? Are you experiencing conflicts with teaching staff?
We are happy to advise and support you with any questions or issues you may have at the beginning of your studies or throughout your course. If you encounter conflicts with teaching staff, we are here to listen and provide solution-oriented guidance.
The Institute for Educational Research is consistently committed to high-quality and easily accessible teaching. In this regard, we maintain close contact with the Quality Assurance Officers of all faculties and work together to develop measures to achieve our shared quality goals for teacher education.
Our quality officer Dr Anita Gerullis is available to answer your questions about educational sciences or special needs education via the following communication channels:
- the contact form (please select "School of Education" for the faculty)
- by email: gerullis[at]uni-wuppertal.de
- by telephone: (0202) 439-60089
- Office hours: Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. and by prior arrangement by email
For enquiries about other study programmes, please click here.
We provide:
- Counselling and mediation in conflicts between lecturers and students
- Counselling on concerns and questions relating to the quality of teaching and study conditions
How does the process work?
Enquiries can be submitted to us in writing or by telephone as indicated above. If required, we can also arrange a consultation appointment on site or via Zoom. Firstly, the aim is to gain a precise understanding of your concerns and related incidents.
Your enquiry will always be treated anonymously, confidentially and promptly. We work out a joint solution strategy for the problem.
Sometimes it is necessary for students and lecturers to sit down (again) and discuss the issue. In this confidential situation, Dr Anita Gerullis will be happy to assist as a mediator.
Most issues can be resolved within a few days.
Independence - The quality representatives in the faculties act as autonomously as possible when dealing with student concerns; the central complaints office also acts independently of the assignment to departments or institutions.
Confidentiality - The concerns submitted to the quality officers are treated confidentially.
Neutrality - The concerns submitted to the quality officers are treated neutrally, open-ended and solution-orientated.
Appreciation - The work of the quality officers is always linked to appreciation of the persons concerned and the corresponding concerns.
