Specialized Educational Sciences in the Combined Bachelor’s Program

The IfB exports the following modules (Specialized Educational Sciences in the Primary School profile or the Lower and Academic Secondary School profile) into various degree components of the Combined Bachelor of Arts (kBA). To determine whether these modules are part of your Bachelor’s studies for the Master of Education (MEd11) for Primary or Secondary schools, please consult the examination regulations for your subjects (▸Combined Bachelor of Arts degree program).

Please take the course cycle into account when planning your studies (see brief module descriptions) and follow the instructions for course registration in WUSEL.

The module consists of two sub-components (1a Introduction and 1b Consolidation), which are usually offered in two consecutive semesters.

The module "Heterogeneity and Individual Support" is completed with a written assignment.

The final module examination in K-Bil 2 "Interaction in the school context (ISK)" takes the form of an oral examination. This is scheduled for 30 minutes. The module comprises a total of 12 CP, for which two performance assessments must be completed:
In addition to the final module examination (8 CP, proof for module parts a, b and c), an ungraded coursework in module part d OR e (4 CP).


K-BIL 4.a "Theories & Concepts of Early Learning"
K-BIL 4.b "Development & Socialisation"
K-BIL 4.c "Primary School Pedagogy"


K-BIL 4.d "Elementary Didactics" (4 CP)

K-BIL 4.e "Primary School Didactics" (4 CP)

The module extends over two semesters. The lectures "Primary School Pedagogy" and "Development and Socialisation" are usually offered in the winter semester, the lecture "Theories and Concepts of Early Learning" in the summer semester. We recommend starting the module in the winter semester, ideally in the 3rd semester, and completing it with the MAP after the 4th semester.

 

Notes on the MAP

  • You can register for the MAP via the central examinations office (ZPA)
  • Afterwards, please also register in the Moodle course "MAP K-BIL4 Educational and Developmental Processes in Elementary and Primary Education"
  • The LP for the MAP will be sent to the ZPA after passing the final module examination with final grade
  • Requests for quick corrections must be justified and communicated at least 14 days before the exam date
  • The MAP is offered every semester, there is NO separate re-write date
